Drum Lessons
 
David started teaching private drum lessons at Hequet Music World on the Village Mall in Danville, Illinois in 1982. Over the years he’s taught in a number of locations in a few different cities. Currently David is teaching 30-minute lessons at the R & R Music Central - Avon in Avon, Indiana on Mondays and is also teaching at his home studio in Pittsboro, Indiana by appointment. Having a resume that consists of Indianapolis Public Schools, Indianapolis YMCA, Tri-West School Corp. to name a few, David is also available for clinics. In these clinics David performs, on drum set, pieces of music in different genres. This is based on Duke Ellington’s quote “There’s only two kinds of music… good and bad” and shows how different genres can co-exist. David also does Middle School aged drum camps designed to perpetuate the beginning percussion section. Time permitting, he will talk about hearing protection and hearing loss. David will also custom tailor a clinic to the specific needs of a band director and/or school.
